Happy Sunday!

Just a few weeks ago I shared a winning trade in TXN which brought in $305 in realized profits, and this week I'm back with a double dip in TXN that was placed over the same period.

This week:

  1. $175 profit in Texas Instruments (TXN)

$175 profit in TXN

Just a few weeks after placing the $240/245 put ratio spread expiring on Aug 21, I decided to place a second trade in TXN, this time a cash-secured put at the $220 strike expiring on Aug 28, for $175 in premium.

This trade was perfectly set up because I already had a put ratio at the $240 strike expiring the week before, which provides me some downside protection if TXN does drop to $240.

On top of that, this trade is even further away at $220, which means even if TXN dropped to $240 by Aug 21, it would need to drop another $20 or 8% in the next 5 trading days for my $220 CSP expiring Aug 28 to be in trouble.

$175 realized profit from selling put options in TXN stock

As you can see, the opposite happened and not only did the first TXN trade expire worthless, I left this trade to expire worthless as well.

This means all $175 of the initial credit was realized as profit, for 100% of max profit.

While I don't often double dip because I don't want to be too concentrated in any one stock, sometimes it just makes sense.

This is winning trade #6 of 6 in TXN, with a running realized tally of $1,363 just in this one stock so far in 2026.

This trade (and all trades in this newsletter) are shared in close-to real time to my private community as updates in my own portfolio (not recommendations). If you're familiar with the basic mechanics of options, you can consider joining the private community to view these updates as well.

And of course the guidance for managing and closing both trades were posted to the community as well.
