Happy weekend!

LOW is not having a good 2026, with the stock down nearly $31 or about 12.5% for the year.

The good news is that trading options often doesn't require holding on to any stocks, while providing opportunities to make money even if the stock is going nowhere, as we'll see in today's trade update.

This week:

  1. $250 profit in Lowe's (LOW)

$250 profit in LOW

Just last month I shared a winning trade in LOW with $225 profit, and in that update I said there haven't been many opportunities to trade LOW.

Well things have changed and just a month later, here's another win.

Not long after that trade closed, I saw another opportunity to sell the $200 cash-secured put expiring Aug 14, this time collecting $320 credit.

$250 realized profit from selling put options in LOW stock

Despite LOW underperforming this year, the stock has been pretty stable and the overall market hasn't had much volatility lately.

I usually eye about 50%-75% of max profit for my trades, but because of these 2 factors, I decided to let this trade run a little but more and only paid $70 to close the trade, which means I realized $250 profit or about 78% of max profit.

As pointed out in the screenshot above, it's also worth noting that LOW basically did nothing in the duration that this trade was on.

This would have been frustrating for anyone who bought stock or even bought options, but as option sellers, this is a very good outcome because I still make money even if the stock goes nowhere.

I don't need to get the direction right, I just need to get a good trade entry and let the market handle the rest.

This trade (and all trades in this newsletter) are shared in close-to real time to my private community as updates in my own portfolio (not recommendations). If you're familiar with the basic mechanics of options, you can consider joining the private community to view these updates as well.

And of course the guidance for managing and closing both trades were posted to the community as well.

Final reminder that prices for the private community will be increasing from 1 Sep 2026, so this is just about your last chance to get in at the old price.

Have a good weekend!
