Happy October! 

 

September was slightly better than August with 6 new trades and 6 trades closed for a profit. 

 

The oldest open position in the portfolio is trade #142 which was placed on 16 August, which means that all the other trades from September 2022 to 16 August 2025 have been taken off for a profit. 

 

For the update this week:

  • Year One (Sep 2022 - Aug 2023) - $3,422

  • Year Two (Sep 2023 - Aug 2024) - $6,292

  • Year Three (Sep 2024 - Aug 2025) - $9,833

  • October 2025 - $622


This brings the total for the last 37 months to a realized profit of $20,169 or a running monthly average of $545.

It was looking like another quiet week until tariffs re-entered the picture on Friday, sending the VIX above 20 for the first time in a while. 

 

As always, it's difficult to say whether this will be short-lived, or the beginning of a longer period of volatility. The important thing is having a plan to take advantage of both outcomes.
